Postnup was born February 17, 2018, at GreenMount Farm, and is a Maryland-bred daughter of the Group 1 winner and promising young sire, Declaration of War, who’s first crop is racing as 3YOs in 2018 and already includes the Group 1 classic-winning Olmedo, plus three other stakes winners.
She is out of I’m Engaged, a two-time winning half-sister to a Grade 2 winner, whose dam is a half-sister to the Eclipse Champion runner and producer, Flanders. This family, and this cross, were recently discussed by Frank Mitchell in the context of War Front’s potential as a sire-of-sires.
You can read why we planned the mating that produced this filly here, and check out more photos of her here.
She was sold out of the GreenMount Farm consignment at the Fasig-Tipton Timonium Yearling Sale for $58,000 to De Meric Sales.
