(2019 bay mare by Bodemeister out of Painted Lady, by Broad Brush)
Floral Hall is a young daughter of the brilliant racehorse Bodemeister, who sired Kentucky Derby winner Always Dreaming in his first crop and has a beautiful pedigree as a son of Empire Maker from a Storm Cat mare. Floral Hall is out of the winning Broad Brush mare Painted Lady, who is the dam of multiple G2 winner Skylighter (dam of G3-placed Sky Painter, she in turn the dam of 2023 G1 winner Wet Paint), stakes winner Cave Hill, stakes winner Speckled (the dam of G2 winner and millionaire Pixelate), multiple-stakes placed Brushed Gold (dam of a stakes-placed winner), and of Lady Lavery, the dam of stakes winner and G3-placed Meru. Three of those sisters to Floral Hall remain in the Godolphin broodmare band.
Floral Hall’s dam Painted Lady is a sibling to G3 winner Thunder Kitten (dam of G3 winner/G1-placed Cat o Mountain and two other stakes winners), and to stakes winner Nobo True. They are out of the four-time G1-winning mare Nastique, whose own dam was a half-sister to Champion Sprinter Chou Croute.
Wasabi purchased Floral Hall out of the 2022 Keeneland November Sale for $25,000 carrying her first foal by Frosted (the sire of the aforementioned Cave Hill). She delivered that strapping filly in Maryland in 2023, which subsequently sold for $45,000 to the JS Company of Japan as a weanling at the 2023 Keeneland November Sale. Floral Hall is pregnant to first-year Kentucky stallion Greatest Honour for 2024.
