Frame of Mind was acquired on behalf of Wasabi Ventures Stables for $15,000 from the world-renowned Godolphin operation (Eclipse Award winners as both owners and breeders again for 2022) at the 2023 Fasig-Tipton Mixed Sale as a broodmare prospect, and will join their Mid-Atlantic-based broodmare band.
Frame of Mind is an unraced half-sister to the 2YO stakes winner and G3-placed Meru, who was a $300,000 2YO in-training purchase by Colts Neck Stable, as well as a full-sister to the $115,000 broodmare purchase Orba (whose first foal is by Speightstown). Another full-sister, Rossenarra, was a $37,000 broodmare purchase by the renowned Lazy Lane Farms, and was bred to Cairo Prince and Classic Empire for her first two foals.
Frame of Mind has a 2YO half-brother of 2023 by Into Mischief and a yearling half-brother by Nyquist, both still in the Godolphin program.
Her dam, Lady Lavery, earned $40,840 on the track and is out of the winning Broad Brush mare Painted Lady — making Lady Lavery a half-sister to multiple G2 winner Skylighter (dam of G3-placed Sky Painter, she in turn the dam of 2023 stakes winner Wet Paint), stakes winner Cave Hill, stakes winner Speckled (the dam of G2 winner and millionaire Pixelate), and multiple-stakes placed Brushed Gold (dam of a stakes-placed winner). Two of Lady Lavery’s sisters also remain in the Godolphin broodmare band.
Frame of Mind’s second dam Painted Lady is a sibling to G3 winner Thunder Kitten (dam of G3 winner/G1-placed Cat o Mountain and two other stakes winners), and to stakes winner Nobo True. They are out of the four-time G1-winning mare Nastique, whose own dam was a half-sister to Champion Sprinter Chou Croute.
Frame of Mind will be bred for the first time in 2023, to the exciting freshman stallion Highly Motivated at Airdrie.
