Gun Slingin is a daughter of the historic young sire Gun Runner, who was a Horse of the Year on the racetrack and is now re-writing the record books at stud, with six first-crop G1 winners to his credit, including Eclipse Champion Echo Zulu, Preakness winner Early Voting, Taiba, Cyberknife, Society and Gunite.
Gun Slingin is out of $300,000 yearling buy Easy Tap, a winner at 2 and the dam of Venezuelan G1 winner & champion Tap Daddy (a SW/G3P in the States), as well as of black-type placed Total Tap and of Disarm, who was a TDN Rising Star breaking his maiden last summer at Saratoga, off of a promising debut earlier in the summer, and then placed in the G2 Louisiana Derby and the G3 Lexington Stakes as a 3YO to qualify for the Kentucky Derby field. After finishing 4th in the Derby, he came back to win the G3 Matt Winn Stakes.
Easy Tap has a Gun Runner colt of 2022 and a 2023 filly by Silver State to come, and was bred back to Gun Runner for 2024.
Gun Slingin’s third dam, White Jasmine, produced four stakes winners including G3 winner Til Forbid (who is the ancestress of graded winners Scoop, Sara Louise, Just Louise, and exciting 2022 G2 winner Forbidden Kingdom), as well as the stakes-placed Coragil, also a multiple graded producer.
Gun Slingin was be bred for the first time in 2023, to the G1W and leading young sire Liam’s Map at Lane’s End. She is pregnant off of a single 2/24 cover, and is believed to be carrying a colt. She will be bred back to Horse of the Year Authentic in 2024.
