
Paluxy Princess was claimed out of her career finale in 2018 for $4,500 (a race which she won by 10 lengths), and after producing a Kantharos filly and a Collected colt, was sold in January 2021 to WinStar Farm for $32,000 in foal to Maclean’s Music. She is a daughter of Horse of the Year and leading sire Ghostzapper, who is the broodmare sire of undefeated Triple Crown winner Justify, as well as the brilliant Eclipse Champion Sprinter Drefong, and multiple Grade 1 winner American Gal.
Paluxy Princess is a half-sister to Grade 2-placed Blushing Bear, as well as to three other winners from all of her dam’s foals to race. Her dam, Bonnie Bear, is a half-sister to stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Achiever’s Legacy, and Bonnie Bear is a granddaughter of Broodmare of the Year Amelia Bearhart, the dam of two-time Canadian Horse of the Year and Breeders’ Cup Turf-G1 winner Chief Bearhart, Hollywood Derby-G1 winner Explosive Red, stakes winner Ruby Ransom (the dam of G2W Strut the Stage and G3W Sacred Song, and granddam of G2W Multidimensional and G3W Aldous Snow), stakes-placed winner Sundown Serenade (the granddam of G1W Private Zone), and the granddam of stakes winner/Grade 1-placed Mr. Z. Amelia Bearhart, in turn, is out of the Ribot mare Myrtlewood Lass, a half-sister to perennial leading sire Mr. Prospector. Paluxy Princess’s 8th dam is Hall of Famer Myrtlewood.
Paluxy Princess broke her maiden at Belmont going 6 furlongs at 3-years-old, and won the final start of her career going a mile at Laurel at 4. She had career earnings of $46,278.
