(2016 chestnut mare by Tapit out of Flourish, by Distorted Humor)
Prosperity was bred by the world-renowned Juddmonte Farms, from one of their typically deep and high quality families. She is a daughter of the perennial leading sire Tapit, the all-time leading North American sire by progeny earnings, and who is the runaway leading North American broodmare sire of 2023, his daughters having produced the likes of Cody’s Wish, Arcangelo, Pretty Mischievous, Society, etc.
Placed during her own four-race career, Prosperity is a daughter of the multiple winner Flourish, by Distorted Humor. Flourish is the dam of millionaire Fulsome (winner of the Oaklawn Mile-G3, Smarty Jones S-G3, and West Virginia Governor’s S-G3, 2nd in the Fayette-G2, and 3rd in the Clark-G1, and who enters stud in 2024 at Walmac Farm), G3-placed Mr Darcy, G3-placed Rimprotector, and multiple stakes-placed Citrus Burst. She has a 2021 filly by Twirling Candy (a $190,000 yearling purchase) and a 2023 filly by Into Mischief (a full-sister to Fulsome and Citrus Burst) in the pipeline, and was bred back to Into Mischief for 2024.
Prosperity’s second dam is the multiples stakes winner Viviana, by Nureyev, who is the dam of multiple Grade 1 winners Sightseek and Tates Creek, granddam of the multiple classic winner Special Duty (also a European champion 2YO and dam of 2023 stakes-winning and G1-placed 2YO Task Force), and great-granddam of Breeders’ Cup Mile-G1 winner Expert Eye. Viviana, in turn, is a full-sister to Juddmonte’s Willstar, whose branch of this family has produced G1 winners Etoile Montante, Obligatory, Country Grammer, etc.
Prosperity herself has produced the following:
- 2021 Cassius (colt by Classic Empire). A $100,000 yearling purchase by Ed & Susie Orr, he has hit the board in both of his starts at 3YO.
- 2022 (filly by McKinzie).
- 2023 (filly by Nyquist).
Wasabi acquired Prosperity for $70,000 at the 2023 Keeneland November Sale carrying a foal from the first crop of G1 winner Olympiad.
