Placed in her first start at 2YO but ultimately unproven as a racehorse, So Dear brings a fantastic physical and an incredible female family to her broodmare career.
So Dear is sired by the young Florida stallion Fury Kapcori, who was a G3 winner and G1-placed racehorse that got two first crop stakes winners at stud. A son of rising broodmare sire Tiznow out of a Go For Gin mare from the immediate family of Horse of the Year Favorite Trick, Fury Kapcori is a full-brother to the G2-winning dam of multiple G1 winner Tiz the Law.
So Dear’s dam, So Ritzy, won three races during her own racetrack campaign, and So Dear is the last of her 13 foals, all of which made the races. Ten of those 13 foals are winners, including So Dear’s multiple G1-winning millionaire half-brother Silver Wagon, her multiple stakes-winning and multiple G3-placed half-brother Rehoboth, her G3-placed half-sister So Glitzy, and three more six-figure earners.
So Dear’s second dam, So Divine, is also a winner and is a half-sister to G3 multiple stakes winner Race Artist (herself the dam of a pair of stakes-winning and graded-placed runners, and granddam of two more stakes winners), multiple stakes winner So Dashing, stakes winner So Charming, stakes-placed So Typical, and a pair of additional stakes producers.
So Dear produced her first foal in 2021, a filly by Jockey Club Gold Cup-G1 winner Wagon Limit (the sire of her successful half-siblings Silver Wagon and Rehoboth), who unfortunately died as the result of a paddock accident as a yearling. She delivered another filly in 2022 by Bucchero. She is in foal to Blofeld for 2023.
So Dear sold on Wanamaker’s with her Bucchero filly by her side in June 2022.
