Housatonic Bloodstock LLC offers a range of services to Thoroughbred owners and breeders, including pedigree analysis and mating recommendations, as well as assistance identifying and inspecting potential purchases at auction, or buying and selling horses privately. We have numerous stallion shares and seasons for sale, and have prepared stallion mating recommendations for numerous sires in the Mid-Atlantic region. Our services also now include pre-sale photographs and walking videos.
Housatonic Bloodstock has been involved in buying, selling and breeding race horses since 2014.
Housatonic Bloodstock’s principal is George Adams. George worked for Hall of Fame trainer Shug McGaughey while he attended Williams College, then prepped sales yearlings and groomed stallions at the famed Claiborne Farm in Kentucky before enrolling in law school at Boston College and practicing as a corporate attorney.
George returned to the equine industry in 2012 and created Housatonic Bloodstock in 2015.
In 2019, Housatonic brokered the deal to retire Grade 1-winning millionaire Force the Pass to stud in Maryland as the first stallion for Wasabi Ventures Stallions, LLC. As of September 1, 2019, George began serving as the Director of Stallions & Breeding for Wasabi, in addition to continuing with his role at Housatonic.
The name Housatonic is taken from a river that flows through Western Massachusetts, where George grew up. He now lives in Charlottesville with his wife and two children.
