Nashville was a $460,000 yearling purchase by China Horse Club and WinStar Farm, and he went on to win his first three starts, including a Saratoga maiden special weight by 11-1/2 lengths as a TDN Rising Star (finishing 6-1/2 furlongs in 1:14.48 after a 6-furlong split of 1:07.92); then a Keeneland allowance by 9-3/4 lengths in 1:09.10, which was the fastest time of the meet. His career highlight was a romping win in the Perryville Stakes on the Breeders’ Cup undercard in 1:07.89, a new track record and faster than the Breeders’ Cup Sprint-G1 later that day. Nashville came back at 4 and won a 6 furlong allowance at Fair Grounds in 1:08.61, the fastest time of the meet.
