Housatonic Recommended Matings for 2026 — Ebb Tide

February 10, 2026 by Housatonic Bloodstock

We switched it up with Ebb Tide in 2025 when she visited War Front’s G1-winning son Annapolis, but she’ll return to the A.P. Indy sire-line again in 2026 to be a member of the first book of mares visiting Tapit’s doppelgänger son Arthur’s Ride at Taylor Made.

Arthur’s Ride scored his signature victory with a brilliant performance in the G1 Whitney over an excellent field for which he was awarded a 110 Beyer Speed Figure (following an allowance victory in which he put up a 111 Beyer). He had been purchased as a yearling for $250k by renowned agent Donato Lanni, and placed in both his starts as a 2YO at Saratoga for Bill Mott before breaking his maiden early at 3YO at Gulfstream. He comes from a deep female family, being out of Canadian champion turf mare Points of Grace, and he’s a half-brother to G1 winner and Canadian champion 2YO filly Victory To Victory.

His sire, Tapit, needs no introduction. We will, though, point out that thus far the best stallion son of Tapit is Constitution, which is relevant here because Ebb Tide’s dam is a full-sister to the dam of Constitution. So the result of this mating will be a foal that is similarly-bred to that multiple G1 winner and leading sire.

Ebb Tide’s family has had additional success with this sire-line, as well (which is why we sent her to those A.P. Indy-line stallions for her first two years), including G3 winner Jacaranda (by Congrats) and black-type winners Erase (by Dialed In), Thetrashmanscoming (by Take Charge Indy), and Whoa Nellie (by Orb).

Meanwhile, the Tapit/Medaglia d’Oro cross has produced graded winners Ridin With Biden, Coinage and Tap It To Win, plus three more black-type winners and eight graded-placed runners.

And then physically, Arthur’s Ride is a tall, strong, beautifully-balanced specimen, and he will add some leg to the slightly shorter Ebb Tide, while her precocity (she was a winner at 2YO) will hopefully complement his later-maturing tendencies.

All of which, we think, will add up to a successful pairing!
