(2021 chestnut mare by Super Ninety Nine out of Faze the Nation, by Cal Nation)
Concrete Faze won nine races and earned $288,912 while racing 33 times from 2YO through 5YO. Her victories included an open “a other than” allowance plus a state-bred allowance, and she scored from 5-1/2 furlongs to 1-1/16 miles with a career-high Beyer Speed Figure of 86. She finished 2nd five times, and 3rd six more times, including on turf. Concrete Faze was claimed five separate times during her career, and we acquired her following her retirement in late 2026 as a broodmare prospect.
We had tracked Concrete Faze closely, given that she is a daughter of our own mare Faze the Nation. Concrete Faze is the second foal out of the black-type placed Faze the Nation, following black-type placed 2YO Flamingo Faze. We acquired Faze the Nation after Concrete Faze had been weaned.
Faze the Nation is a half-sister to the 2022 Maryland-bred Champion 2YO filly Malibu Moonshine, to stakes-placed 2YOs Malibu Hooch and Maxine’s Tap Room, and to 6 other winners from all her dam’s foals to race. Concrete Faze’s second dam, Sunday in Malibu, was a three-time winner of $119,558 by renowned sire and broodmare sire Malibu Moon, and Sunday in Malibu also picked up black-type when 2nd in the Sandpiper Stakes. She is a half-sister to the stakes winner Retaliation, and this is also the female family of graded winners Fiscally Speaking, Greek Sun and Madame Pandit (the dam of G1 winner Mea Domina and second dam of G2 winner McCracken and G3 winner Four Graces).
Concrete Faze will be bred for the first time in 2027. You can check out more photos of her here.
