Fashionista is not only a member of Larry Johnson’s foundation Ran’s Chick family, but she is inbred 4×4 to that taproot mare in the Rasmussen Factor “Formula One” pattern, and we are excited to add her to our broodmare band in advance of her first mating in 2026.
A $14,000 yearling purchase by Ferris Allen, Fashionista raced 42 times from 2YO through 6YO, winning twice and placing in an additional 14 races, good for earnings of $132,421. Her victories came going a mile on dirt at Laurel, and over a mile and 70 yards on dirt at Penn (the latter by 13-3/4 lengths). She was placed going as short as 5 furlongs, and also placed multiple times on turf.
Fashionista is sired by the G3 winner and leading local stallion Street Magician, and is a full-sister to the winner I’d Like To Know, from all of her dam’s foals to race. Her dam, A Lover’s Question, was a black-type winner at 2YO sprinting on turf, and also won as far as a mile on all-weather at 4YO. A Lover’s Question is a half-sister to the black-type winner Harbingerofthings (in turn the dam of G2 winner and G1-placed Tell Your Daddy and G3 winner Dynadrive), to the black-type placed runners Day the Music Died and Mr. Magician, and to the winners and producers Questionoftheday and Magician’squestion.
Fashionista’s 3rd dam, Whatwouldhappenif, is the ancestress of black-type winners What It Is, Do What I Say, Heaven Knows What, Whenigettoheaven, Doing Great, Great Soul, Valued Notion and Partners Due. Her 4th dam is Ran’s Chick, whose other descendants include multiple G1 winner Mindframe, multiple G2 winner Future Is Now, the aforementioned Street Magician, etc.
Fashionista’s first breeding will be to leading Maryland sire Blofeld.
