Mindframe enters stud in 2026 at Claiborne Farm, where he will stand for an introductory fee of $50,000 befitting his brilliant race record, top class pedigree, and fantastic physical. We are excited that our good friends at Wasabi Ventures Stallions were able to get in on his stud career as shareholders.
Bred in Maryland by R. Larry Johnson, Mindframe traces to Johnson’s foundation mare Ran’s Chick, just like ’25 multiple GSW Future Is Now, and the G3W/sire Street Magician, and his dam is the BTW Walk of Stars, by Street Sense. Mindframe’s sire is G1W and perennial top stallion Constitution, and Mindframe was a $600,000 Keeneland September Yearling purchase by Mike Repole and Vinnie Viola’s St. Elias Stables, for whom he raced under the tutelage of trainer Todd Pletcher.
Mindframe was a TDN Rising Star first-time out when he broke his maiden by 13-3/4 lengths going 7 furlongs at Gulfstream, and he won a 1-1/16 mile allowance on the Kentucky Derby undercard by 7-1/2 lengths in his second start. For his third start, he was stepped all the way to G1 company in the classic Belmont Stakes and finished a close 2nd to Dornoch, to whom he was 2nd again in the G1 Haskell. Put away for the remainder of his sophomore season after that astronomical ascent, Mindframe returned at 4YO to win the G2 Gulfstream Park Mile, the G1 Churchill Downs Stakes (over Nysos and Book’Em Danno), and the G1 Stephen Foster Stakes (over Sierra Leone and Mystic Dan) in his first three starts of the season. Unfortunately he lost his rider at the start of the G1 JCGC and then didn’t fire his best shot in the G1 BC Classic, his career finale.
Nevertheless, Mindframe is the only multiple Grade 1-winning older dirt male of 2025, and he should get some consideration for the Eclipse Award in that division. Either way, his brilliant career makes him a hugely exciting stallion prospect, and we can’t wait to have Wasabi bee a part of that stud career!
